I’m taking a short break from cosplay and wanted to share a few photos from my recent trip to Morocco. Hope you enjoy!

This is a view of Peacock Pavilions, my home away from home for the week.

Peacock Pavilions

Peacock Pavilions was designed and built by Maryam Montague and her husband, Chris Redecke. If you want to learn more about Maryam and Peacock Pavilions, check out her blog here.

More decor from Peacock Pavilions. Love the goggles on this one. Star Wars Cosplayers – Does this remind you of anyone? BTW, Maryam’s blog has a post about Lupita Nyongo’s photo shoot in Morocco.

Atlas Mountains

A view from the Atlas Mountains.

Be careful – I learned that camels will bite.

Another view of the Atlas Mountains from Kasbah Tamadot, where we enjoyed a delicious meal along with a cooking demonstration and a mule trek.

A view from inside the Medina.

Lunch at the Kasbah Cafe.

Jardin Majorelle

Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech – calm amid chaos

Sunset at the Night Market in Marrakech

Morocco is an extraordinary country. While the people that I met were some of the most kind, honest, and unassuming, it was humbling to find myself in an environment that was so contrary to my personal experience. Morocco, especially Marrakech, is an adventure of the senses. The sights, sounds, tastes, and smells can be overwhelming at times. To remain centered you must balance stillness with these sensations. Once you do, you can fully appreciate the magic of Morocco.

Don’t fret cosplayers! I’ll be back in October with another Rey post – just in time for Halloween.
